GENERAL MANAGER

Our unique waterfront venue, Tīni Gin Bar + Eatery (Tīni, meaning "gin" in Māori), is located in the picturesque Akaroa, just an hour’s drive from Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand.

We’re seeking a passionate General Manager to start in January to lead our operations. In this role, you’ll oversee bar and event management, ensuring exceptional service and memorable guest experiences.


**Operational Leadership**

  • Manage daily operations to ensure seamless service and memorable customer experiences.

  • Develop and implement systems to improve efficiency, optimize profitability, and elevate service standards.

  • Oversee inventory, cost controls, and stock management to meet operational needs.

  • Stay updated on drink trends and innovations within the hospitality industry.

  • Lead social media and marketing content efforts to boost brand visibility and attract customers.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.


**Event Coordination**

  • Plan and implement various events, while innovating new concepts to expand offerings and attract a wide range of audiences

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and entertainment providers.

  • Oversee all event logistics, including staffing, set-up, and post-event reviews.


**Team Management**

  • Recruit, train, and lead a motivated and collaborative team.

  • Create staffing schedules that ensure optimal coverage for daily operations and special events.

  • Foster a positive work environment that inspires staff to deliver exceptional guest service.

**Guest Experience**

  • Cultivate a welcoming and engaging atmosphere that reflects the Tīni brand.

  • Ensure every guest has a memorable visit, whether at the bar or during an event.

  • Actively seek and implement guest feedback to continuously improve experiences

**Financial Management**

  • Monitor budgets, track performance metrics, and drive initiatives to meet financial goals.

  • Analyse profitability across operations and events, making adjustments as needed.

  • Prepare financial reports and provide insights for strategic decision-making.

FRONT  OF HOUSE

Do you have a keen interest in both gin and food?

If so, we’re looking for you!
 

**What You’ll Do**
 

  • Welcome and seat guests with a warm smile.

  • Guide guests through our gin and cocktail menu, offering your recommendations.

  • Take orders efficiently and ensure drinks are served promptly.

  • Assist in preparing and serving drinks that look as good as they taste.

  • Keep the bar and seating areas clean and organized.
     

**What We’re Looking For**
 

  • Experience in a front-of-house or similar hospitality role.

  • A genuine interest in gin and cocktails, or a keen desire to learn.

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

SENIOR CHEF

We are on the hunt for a passionate Senior Chef (part time) to join our vibrant team and bring culinary magic to our waterfront venue.

**Responsibilities**

  • Prepare meals efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • Manage food and stock control to ensure smooth operations.

  • Maintain food safety protocols and a spotless kitchen.

  • Perform daily kitchen tasks, including prep work, cooking, and cleaning.

  • Uphold exceptional knife skills and fundamental cooking techniques.
